Why I Chose to Change The Title of My Book

Almost two years after “You Were Made For Me” was published I will be changing the title to “You Were Meant For Me”. This beautiful book was such a labor of love for me and will continue to be a “love letter” to my children. While written for them, the original book, You Were Made For Me, has touched thousands of families and has become adored by recipient families and the infertility community.

I feel truly honored that this book resonates with other parents as it does for me. There is, however, another audience I need to honor. The DONOR CONCEIVED.

I hope every recipient parent, every couple struggling with infertility, and every family considering using donation will take the time to read the two following blogs. In these two letters, you will see and feel why this change was necessary.

And even though at first glance, the change of a single word in a title may seem small, I hope you will take the time to really hear what this anonymous individual is telling us. Whether now with this letter, or over the years as we raise our donor conceived children, the most important thing we can do is to LISTEN and try our best to make sure our children are HEARD.

I hope you all continue to love reading, You Were Meant For Me, and that it will now mean even more.
